Praise Sanctuary Church began in February 1989

Praise Sanctuary Church began in February 1989, under the pastoralship of Rev. Joseph A. Peay. Though Pastor Peay was not new to the ministry, Praise Sanctuary was the church God led him to resurrect after leaving Triumph the Church & Kingdom of God in Christ in Los Angeles, CA, where he served as pastor for 15 years. The first place of worship for Praise Sanctuary was the auditorium of Horace Mann Jr. High School in Los Angeles. Here the congregation learned what it meant to truly rely on God for wisdom and direction. A little more than a year later in 1990, Praise packed up and moved to the auditorium of the 74th Street School in Los Angeles where many of its ministries were birthed. In April of 1992, Praise was blessed with a new location on 54th & Crenshaw Blvd. in Los Angeles. In this larger facility, Pastor Peay’s vision began to stir. Ministries grew and souls were coming to Christ. Before long, six years had gone by. When it was necessary to move yet another time in April 1998, Praise was led to 94th & Main St. in Los Angeles. During the next 5-year period, God took the congregation to a higher level until it was time to make another move. 124th & Normandie Ave. in Los Angeles was the next stop. This move took place once again in April but the year was 2003. The importance of witnessing for God was ever-present during this time. As June of 2004 rolled around, Praise moved on to another location in Los Angeles on Manchester Ave. & Vermont Ave. God continued to lead Praise Sanctuary for the next three years as Pastor Peay continued his teaching. For eighteen years Praise moved from place to place responding to the call of God. During this time, God was preparing a place for Praise Sanctuary to call its own. Prayers were finally answered on July 15, 2007, when Pastor Peay and his congregation walked into their very own facility. The new location was 10807 S. Vermont Ave., still in the city of Los Angeles, where the church still resides. Pastor Peay's vision to win the lost to Christ escalated to higher heights. Along with his wife, Sharon, Pastor Peay’s plan has always been to reach the community through various ministries and hopefully a school someday. Praise Sanctuary stands as a living witness and testament of God’s grace and His mercy; for this is what has brought
